Dr. Alex Wang, MD
Pediatric Gastroenterologist

Dr. Alex is a highly trained and experienced pediatric gastroenterologist at Valley Gastroenterology. He received his medical degree from Sun Yat-Sen University in China, where he was trained as a GI and anorectal surgeon for both pediatrics and adults. He completed his pediatric residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, and his pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital.

Dr. Alex is the founder and director of Valley Gastroenterology Institute and a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist. He has a special interest in neuro-gastroenterology and motility disorders, including refractory constipation, and functional gastrointestinal disorders, and has authored several publications on these topics. He was responsible for setting up Pediatric GI motility services, including EndoFlip and Anorectal Manometry (ARM), at the Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC). He was also one of the first pediatric gastroenterologists who performed an Anorectal EndoFlip Motility (AEM) study in children, with a manuscript currently under review for publication. 

Dr. Alex is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to his patients. He understands the impact that gastrointestinal disorders can have on a child's life and works closely with each family as a team to develop individualized treatment plans that meet their unique needs.

In addition to his work at Valley Gastroenterology Institute, Dr. Wang is affiliated with Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC), where he lectures residents and nurses. He is a newly appointed adjunct professor at California Health Science University (CHSU), where he supervises medical students in their Pedi GI rotations. He is also a member of several professional organizations, including the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (NASPGHAN).

Dr. Alex is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in his field and regularly attends national conferences and continuing education courses. When he is not working, Dr. Wang enjoys spending time with his family, barbecuing, hiking, biking, and playing basketball.
